Official Statement on the Homicide Attempt and Destruction of Property belonging to members within the Church Premises

 

LONDON, Ont. – September 13, 2022–The Pastorate and Ministers of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Grace Assembly, London, would like to notify the public of a cowardly and targeted attack during our church service on Friday - September 9, 2022 (click the link below to read the London Police Department's article). While we thank God that the attack was foiled, it is necessary to let everyone know what has happened. Some vehicle damage occurred, but every member of the church was able to leave unscathed.

“As a church, we were devastated about this occurrence targeted at peaceful congregants,” says Tunde Olaniyi, Lead Pastor of the RCCG, Grace Assembly. He further stated that, “the church is always welcoming and accommodating to anyone who wants to be part of it.” He thanked the police department and the public for their support and for standing by the church at this time.

 

On behalf of the pastorate, we pray for all our congregants who were in attendance on that day or might have been distressed in any way and our Church family that the Almighty God continues to protect and guard us, according to His promises in Jesus’ name.  We also pray for the individual who orchestrated the attack on our premises, that the Lord will have mercy upon him. And to members of our church, we remind you of God’s Word in Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God."

 

As an ongoing precaution, and to ensure we all feel safe to attend service on-site, the London Police will be providing coverage on our grounds during all our services.
